Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil reassured the Lebanese that there would be backing down on commitments to everything that relates to their daily living.

Speaking during the second Ashoura night organized by Amal Movement in Beirut's southern suburb on Friday, Khalil vowed to exert utmost efforts to assure citizens that their State is alert and capable of protecting them.

"Today, despite the decision of the Constitutional Council to overturn the tax law which we respect, we insist on adopting the salaries and ranks scale while reconsidering the legal basis related to the other project, in order to maintain balance between revenues and expenditure and preserve economic and financial stability in the country," stressed Khalil
