The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s president Maria Khoury received a delegation from the UK embassy headed by deputy ambassador Chris Thompson, and commended the historic bilateral friendship ties in various fields.

NIHR's secretary-general Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al Fadhil was also present during the meeting which explored Bahrain's accomplishments and challenges in the relevant field, noting the National Institution’s role in dealing with human rights issues.

The UK’s deputy envoy expressed his appreciation of the National Institution’s efforts as well as his embassy’s readiness to provide the support that would contribute to achievement of NIHR’s aspirations and objectives.
