The Muslim World League, MWL, Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, has received a Belgian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister, Derek Ashton, the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, has reported. The Belgian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Geert Criel, also attended the meeting.
The agency reported that Dr. Al-Issa briefed the delegation on the league's efforts in combating extremism, supporting moderation and strengthening cultural ties between peoples.
SPA quoted the MWL Secretary-General emphasising the adoption of many intellectual and dialogue programmes that achieve its new vision of civilised communication between the Islamic nations and the peoples of the world.
The Belgian Deputy Foreign Minister paid tribute to the new vision of the league, its transparent approach and efforts to support programmes of cultural and intellectual integration.
