The Higher Defense Council convened in session on Tuesday, upon the invitation of President Michel Aoun, under the chairmanship of the President and in the presence of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, member ministers along with leaders of the military and security apparatuses.

The Council is set to discuss the security situation in the country and take appropriate decisions thereon.

The Council keeps its decisions secret in implementation of the law.

The meeting was preceded by a get-together between the president of the republic and the premier, with talks touching on the latest developments and the general situation
