Lebanese Forces Party Chief Samir Geagea deemed Sunday that the situation in Lebanon is not good because of Hezbollah's practices and corruption in the Lebanese State.

"The current situation in Lebanon is not good for two main reasons: the first is that the State in Lebanon is not an actual State...since Hezbollah controls its strategic decision and the decision of peace and war, while the second reason is corruption and inefficiency within the State," Geagea told a number of Lebanese Forces Youth in Sidney, Australia.

Geagea reminded how Pope John Paul II described Lebanon as, "not only a country, but a message."

He added that the Lebanese Forces' goal was not to get more deputies or ministers into the state but to preserve Lebanon as an independent country and a sovereign state.

"Some want the Arab nation, others believe in the Islamic nation and some want to achieve Greater Syria, but we [in the Lebanese Forces] are working hard to preserve Lebanon as a country and a final entity," Geagea underscored.

Commenting on the upcoming parliamentary elections, Geagea urged the Lebanese Diaspora to participate in the elections and register their names in various consulates and embassies across the world
