Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul-Latif Derian, met Wednesday evening with Prime Minister Saad Hariri, welcoming him at the"Dar El-Fatwa" which he deemed "is for all the Lebanese who expressed today their love and loyalty to you (Hariri) and the approach which is going to maintain the advancement march of the State and its institutions."
Both men held a closed meeting devoted to tackling the current situation, whereby the Mufti considered PM Hariri's resignation suspension as a "step forward in the dialogue between the Lebanese."
"We have always known PM Hariri to take bold, courageous and wise stances based on national principles to save Lebanon. His decision to wait on his resignation is a step forward in the dialogue between the Lebanese to address the reasons that led to the resignation, with the aim of reaching a solution that preserves Lebanon's security, safety and stability and good relations with Arab brethrens," said Mufti Derian
