Dar Al Ber runs diverse charity projects in RAK in six months

The Dar Al Ber Society implemented several charity projects and community initiatives in the first half of the year to ease the suffering of vulnerable people and fulfil their needs.

Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, Manager of Dar Al Ber in Ras al-Khaimah, said they marked Zayed Humanitarian Work Day with the ‘Iftar Meal’ project in recognition of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. "Many people benefited from the project, which was organised in collaboration with a number of departments, institutions, and schools here to bring them happiness," he informed.

The list of strategic partners included RAK Public Prosecution, RAK Courts, Department of Finance, Customs Department, RAK e-Government, Al Manar Mall, Mega Mall, and RAK Medical Zone.

Dar Al Ber, meanwhile, honoured a number of entities that have significantly contributed to the success of many charity activities.

The Society organised the ‘Feeding Food’ project in co-operation with numerous schools for the second year in a row. "Ramadan baskets were provided to 68 low-income families under this project," he added.

They distributed gifts to 21 sick children of indigent families to mark World Health Day and put a smile on the kids’ faces, Al Shehi said.

"The Society also ran another project, ‘Up with Science,’ for 76 students of low-income families who were given a chance to join some English and computer courses," he added.

Dar Al Ber also organised a trip for 39 children of destitute families under the 4th edition of ‘Put a Smile,’ in collaboration with Manar Mall and Fun City.

A project, themed ‘Patient Smile,’ was also organised in association with the RAK Medical Zone. "Some 226 blood pressure gadgets were contributed to them," he disclosed.

The Society marked Universal Children's Day by running a special function for 32 boys and girls. "Up to 40 Quran memorisers were honoured, while Eid gifts were distributed to 20 children and 10 patients at the Saqr Hospital," Al Shehi added.
