Arab ambassadors review Yemen's political process.

The ambassadors of 19-state group supporting the political process in Yemen have held a meeting here at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) headquarters with participation of UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest political developments in Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The meeting supported efforts exerted by the UN envoy to Yemen through a political solution in accordance with the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, outputs of the national comprehensive dialogue and the Security Council (UNSC)'s Resolution 2216.

Saudi ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber briefed the meeting of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)'s decision depositing $2 billion in the Central Bank of Yemen.

The UN envoy and ambassadors welcomed the Kingdom's decision which is an extension of the Kingdom's efforts aiming to provide all support for the Yemeni people, affirming that this deposit will positively supports stability of the Yemeni currency and economy in addition to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

For his part, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political and Negotiations Affairs Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Awaisheq briefed the meeting on the humanitarian and relief efforts exerted by the GCC in all Yemeni governorates, stressing that the GCC stance seeks to end the Yemeni crisis through a political solution based on the three references, SPA reported.
