President of the republic, Michel Aoun, on Tuesday signed the law on protecting animals in Lebanon, approved by the Parliament last week.

Separately, Aoun met with French MP Nadia Essayan, over the Lebanese-French bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the French lawmaker informed Aoun of the importance the French officials pinned on the impending visit of the Lebanese President to France on forthcoming September 25.

Aoun and Essayan also discussed the current political and security developments in the country.

"Lebanon is the first country to fully liberate its soil from terrorists, thanks to its national army," the President said, highlighting the necessity of international solidarity with Lebanon in its war against terrorism.

Separately, Aoun welcomed the Honorary Consul of The State of Eritrea in Lebanon, Abdullah Matraji, who conveyed to his host an oral letter from his Eritrean counterpart Isaias Afwerki, hereby expressing wish to bolster relations with Lebanon, especially on the level of business and investments.

The President later met with MP Neemtallah Abi Nasr.

He also met with Lebanese Central Bank's Governor, Riyad Salame, over the current financial and monetary situation in the country.

"The monetary and financial situation is stable. Foreign currency liquidity is available," Salame told the President
