The Al Maktoum Foundation has begun distributing the first batch of 600 sewing machines to underprivileged families in Jordan, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation. The programme will benefit 100 women in this round of deliveries.
Faisal Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, Mirza Al Sayegh, member of the Al Maktoum Foundation Board of Trustees, Ayman Al Mufleh, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, and Salem Ahmed Al Qaisy, member of the Emirati-Jordanian Aid Committee, distributed the sewing machines to 20 women in Amman, during a visit by the foundations delegation to the Kingdom.
Faisal Al Fayez praised the progressive level of the Jordanian-Emirati relations in political, economic and social areas, and described them as a historic advancement, based on mutual respect and that serves the mutual interests of both countries.
Al Fayez expressed his appreciation for the laudable efforts of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, and patron of Al Maktoum Foundation, who is always keen to promote humanitarian and philanthropic activities, highlighting his continuous directives to support charitable projects in Jordan.
Al Maktoum Foundation Aid comes within the framework of the Emirati-Jordanian Aid Committee that was established in 2017, chaired by Faisal Al Fayez and Mirza Al Sayegh, Vice President of the Committee.
Mirza Al Sayegh highlighted the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to reduce the burden on families in need.
Al Sayegh and the accompanying delegation, accompanied by Al Fayez, took a tour of the projects carried out by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to serve the local community and Syrian refugees in Al Mahatta region. The tour included visits to the Charity Clothes Bank, the Arzaq project, as well as the Tarabot Community Centre in Al Mahatta region.
