The 29th session of the meetings of the Arab Transport Ministers' Council kicked off on Tuesday at the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Alexandria.
Delivering a speech, Transport Minister and head of the executive bureau of the Arab transport ministers' council Galal el Saeid said that transportation issues are in need of continued work in all countries, especially the neighbouring ones.
Egypt attaches great importance to the transportation sector, he said, adding that there is a remarkable progress in the Egyptian transportation sector.
Lebanese Public Works and Transportation Minister Ghazi Zeaiter, who headed the previous session, extended thanks to Egypt for hosting the meetings of the Arab transport ministers' council and its executive bureau.
He, meanwhile, underlined the importance of coordination among the Arab countries.
The Egyptian minister handed over the chairmanship of the current session to the Libyan Transport Minister at the Government of National Accord (GNA) Milad Matoug.
Matoug, meanwhile, extended thanks to Egypt for the warm hospitality, adding that his country is confronting several challenges in the transportation sector.
