Sochaux coach Francis Gillot revealed on Thursday that he is in talks to become the new coach of Bordeaux. \"It\'s my priority,\" Gillot told the Sud Ouest regional daily. \"It would be a progression for me to come here (Bordeaux).\" Gillot led Sochaux to an unexpected fifth-place finish in Ligue 1, earning them a place in next season\'s Europa League, but he says he is ready for a new challenge. \"Bordeaux are among the best clubs in France,\" he said. \"People have always told me good things about them and it\'s difficult to go and look at something else. \"Nothing has been decided for the time being. Negotiations are ongoing with my agent but I admit that I would really like to come. \"I have good feelings and I work a lot by intuition.\" Gillot, 51, began his coaching career as head of Sochaux\'s youth training centre in 1996. After spells at United Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain (2003-2004) and Lens (2004-2007), he returned to Sochaux in 2008. At Bordeaux he would replace Eric Bedouet, who has been acting as a caretaker coach since the departure of Jean Tigana. Tigana quit as Bordeaux coach on May 7, shortly after a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Sochaux.
