HRW warns Houthi landmines are killing civilians in Yemen

A leading international rights group has accused Houthi militants and forces loyal to Yemen's former president Ali Abdullah Saleh of killing and injuring scores in Taiz city by using landmines.

According to the Human Rights Watch (HRW), Houthi-planted landmines have killed 23 people and wounded 56 others in Taiz.

Between May 2015 and April 2016, the landmines have killed 18 people and injured 39 more. 

In Taiz, landmines claimed lives of five children, caused permanent disabilities to four and injured 13 others.
