Aden security chief survives assassination attempt, 4 guards killed

Aden Security Chief Shalal Ali Shaye'a survived Sunday an assassination attempt after a suicide bomber targeted his motorcade here.

A source in Aden's security administration told Aden al-Ghad newspaper that the offensive was carried out by a booby-trapped vehicle that attacked the motorcade near Caltex Square.

The source said that the car hit a military vehicle before it explodes leaving four guards dead and four others injured, adding that Shaye'a is safe and sound.

A ten-year-old boy, who was passing by during the accident, was also killed.

Meanwhile, this is the second time that the motorcade of Shaye'a is targeted as the first time was in February 16 when gunmen attacked it leaving four of his companions wounded.
