Sana'a- At least 20 Houthi militants were killed Thursday in heavy clashes in Taiz city, a day after firing rocket killing over 20 civilians, anti-Houthi

At least 20 Houthi militants were killed in clashes with the Yemeni army and its resistance forces in Taiz city, southwest Yemen.

Spokesman for Taiz Front Colonel Mansour al Hasani said clashes claimed the lives of 20 militants and left scores of others injured in northern the city.

Three army personnel were killed and 10 others injured in a shelling carried out by militants on residential areas, he added.

He pointed out that government forces repelled an attack on Brigade 22 east of the city, while Yemeni artillery shelled Houthi hideouts northwest of the city and destroyed a tanker.

Meanwhile, resistance sources said Arab coalition warplanes carried out intensive raids on Houthi positions on the coastal line of Hudaida governorate adjacent to Taiz. The shelling destroyed reinforcements of Houthis before heading for southern Taiz.
