Security forces in Yemen have arrested two French nationals, who are believed to be members of an Al-Qaeda cell, the government of France confirmed. Spokesman for the country’s Foreign Ministry Romain Nadal stated on Friday that France "is cooperating closely with Yemen authorities in the fight against terrorist organizations active on their territory", RT reported. The two men were identified as Mourad Abdulla and Taha al-Issawi who are both French nationals, with Tunisian roots. The pair were trying to leave the country when they were detained. France’s government recently introduced tough new anti-terrorist measures to try to stop its citizens from joining extremist fighters in Syria and elsewhere.
