A bomb attack took place Saturday night at a NATO military base in Wazir Akbar Khan, the diplomatic enclave in central of the Afghanistan's capital Kabul, said authorities. "The blast took place after a military convoy entered the Camp Eggers, a NATO base near the German embassy in street 17 Wazir Akbar Khan district. Since the incident occurred inside the base the casualties remained unknown," a police source told Xinhua anonymously. Meantime, local media reported that the blast was caused by a sticky bomb attached to a vehicle of the convoy. The Taliban insurgents fighting Afghan forces and more than 84, 000 NATO-led coalition troops recently announced that the cold weather during the harsh winter will not prevent them to attack security forces. Earlier on Saturday, one NATO soldier and six militants were killed when Taliban launched an attack on a military camp in eastern Nangarhar province while a police commander was killed in a sticky bomb explosion in neighboring Ghazni province. On December 27, three NATO soldiers were killed when a suicide car bombing hit a military convoy in eastern Kabul.
