At least 32 Taliban militants were killed or injured duringcoordinated military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24hours.The operations were conducted by Afghan national police (ANP) in cooperation withthe Afghan national army (ANA) and Afghan intelligence – national directorate ofsecurity (NDS) operatives, (Khaama Press) reported.Interior ministry of Afghanistan confirmed in a statement that 20 Taliban militantswere killed and 12 others were injured during the operations.The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Kabul, Laghman,Zabul, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak and Logar provinces of Afghanistan.Interior ministry also added that eight Taliban militants were detained during themilitary operations and Afghan national security forces confiscated various types ofweapons and explosives during the operations.Afghan national police (ANP) forces also discovered and seized three improvisedexplosive device (IEDs) during the operations in Chaparhar district of Nangarharprovince.Interior ministry said the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were planted byTaliban militants to carry out terrorist attacks.
