Twenty-six Taliban militants were killed in joint operations launched by Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) during the past twenty-four hours in different regions of the country. Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said in a statement today that Afghan forces carried out with ISAF several joint operations killing 26 Taliban militants, injuring 16 others, and arresting 17 others. The statement added that the security forces seized large quantities of heavy and light weapons. However, the statement did not say if there were any casualties on the security forces.
