Israeli forces Tuesday detained eight Palestinians and physically assaulted another in West Bank districts, WAFA news agency quoted security sources as saying.
Israeli police detained five Palestinian minors from the Old City of Jerusalem purportedly for hurling stones and transferred them to interrogation centers.
Meanwhile in Bethlehem district, Israeli forces raided Husan, a village to the west of the city, at dawn, where they proceeded to detain three Palestinian minors after breaking into and ransacking their families’ homes.
The detainees were identified as Yasin Hamamra, 15, Marwan Sabatin, 15, and Mahmoud Za‘oul, 15.
Meanwhile in Hebron, Israeli soldiers stationed at a flying checkpoint stopped a Palestinian and brutally assaulted him. Muhammad Qatuf, 40, was assaulted with the butts of the soldiers’ rifles, inflicting bruises and wounds across his body.
He was admitted into Hebron Public Hospital, where medics described his condition as stable.
Israeli soldiers also raided several Hebron neighborhoods and set up flying checkpoints at the entrances of Bani Na‘im, Idhna, Sa‘ir, Halhul, al-Samou‘ and Beit ‘Awwa towns, where they stopped and inspected all vehicles with Palestinian registration plates and examined passengers identity cards, causing traffic jams.
In the meantime in Jenin, military units stormed al-Taybeh village, where they broke into and ransacked a home that houses a Palestinian family.
