Gaza - MENA
The Palestinian Movement Hamas said that the move by Israeli Municipality of West Jerusalem to hang a signal reading "Temple Mount" is a serious escalation in judaizing Al Aqsa Mosque.
Hamas, meanwhile, warned the Israeli occupation from the consequences of judaizing of Al Aqsa mosque and the Islamic landmarks in al Quds (Occupied East Jerusalem) as well as provoking the sentiments of Muslims.
In press statements on Saturday, Hamas official Ismail Radwan said that hanging of a sign featuring the term “Temple Mount” instead of the internationally recognized Islamic term, Al-Aqsa Mosque, is nothing but an attempt to “judaize” the holy site.
Radwan called on the Arab and Islamic nations to support al Quds residents.
He also urged the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to protect the historic identity of Palestine and stop the Israeli measures that lead to eruption of religious conflicts in the region.
