Gaza - KUNA
Ezz-Eddine Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, fired 10 rockets against Israeli settlement towns near Gaza Strip on Monday.
The attack "comes in response to the Israeli ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people," a statement by the Brigades said.
The statement added that the rockets targeted "Ofakim, Ashkelon, Netivot, in addition to other Israeli towns." The Israeli military recognized the dangerous situation and escalation in the south, including the launching of barrage of rockets from Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army also claimed the Iron Dome system intercepted a number of rockets, but at the same time recognized requests by many Israelis to resort to bunkers or fortified rooms.
The Israeli army noted that "more than 30 rockets were fired from the area, in less than 30 minutes."
