Tehran(Iran) - Arab Today
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi has strongly condemned the US missile attack on the Syrian territories, considering it as a violation of international law and way of supporting the terrorists.
Qassemi said in a statement on Friday that Iran strongly condemns any unilateral military intervention, adding that the US airstrike will only “strengthen the dying terrorist groups and complicate the situation in Syria and the region.”
Qassemi said “The Islamic Republic, as the biggest victim of chemical weapons in modern history, condemns any application of such weapons, regardless of the perpetrators and victims”.
The spokesman said the US’s use of the chemical attack incident in Syria as a “pretext for unilateral action is dangerous, destructive and violation of peremptory principles of international laws.”
Meanwhile, Greece expressed its strong rejection of any military intervention in Syria after the US missile strike against an air base in Syria’s Central Region at dawn on Friday.
“Greece is strongly against any military intervention in Syria,” a source in the Greek National Defense Ministry source told Sputnik, adding that such action will hamper dialogue and peace in Syria
