Sulaiman Hamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, has hosted a lunch reception in honour of the UAE’s candidacy for election to the Council of the International Maritime Organisation, IMO.
The candidature for category ‘B’ will be decided at the 30th regular session of the IMO Assembly, taking place in London between November 24th and December 5th.
In his speech on the occasion, Al Mazrouei underlined the importance of the IMO Council and the UAE’s economic achievements in the maritime industry, and referred to Jebel Ali, the world’s largest man-made port, with 77 international ports under DP world’s management.
The occasion was also marked by a few words from Mohammad Al-Kaabi, the UAE’s Permanent Representative Designate to the IMO, who reaffirmed the UAE’s resolute compliance with the IMO’s instruments.
The event was attended by a number of ambassadors and diplomats of the IMO member states.
