Japan Demands China Withdraw Vessels from Waters around Senkakus

Japan demanded Tuesday that China promptly withdraw its government vessels from waters around the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, saying Beijing's attempt to change the status quo has badly hurt bilateral ties.
Tokyo's strongly worded protest came after some Chinese government vessels continued to enter Japanese waters around the islets in recent days despite repeated protests from Japan, escalating tensions in the waters, according to (Kyodo) news agency.
Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida summoned Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua to the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday and protested against the Chinese move around the Japanese-administered, Chinese-claimed uninhibited islands, according to the ministry.
