The Fatwa monitoring observatory of Egypt's Darul Iftaa urged on Thursday the international community to adopt effective strategies to rehabilitate extremists according to national principles and legal procedures.
In a new report, the observatory reviewed several strategies that can be carried out when dealing with extremists after returning home.
Rehabilitation strategies will only target those who have already ended their relations with extremist groups, the report noted.
The strategies aim at merging those extremists into the society once again through carrying out intellectual, social, psychological and religious programs.
