Interior Minister Ghalib Al Zu’bi on Thursday, discussed with London Metropolitan Police’s acting deputy commissioner Police Mark Rowley, scopes of security cooperation between Jordan and Britain and means to further boost them.

The meeting also dealt with ways of addressing security challenges resulting from regional and international developments, mainly the fight against terrorism, extremism and crime.

The minister spoke about Jordan’s efforts to combat terrorism and extremism through plans, programs and strategies, stressing the importance of boosting international cooperation and coordination to address terrorism and extremism.

Jordan, Al Zu’b said, had adopted a strategy to combat terrorism and extremism that is being implemented in civil society institutions, adding that the strategy is based on dialogue, fighting dark ideologies, and cooperating with world countries in this regard.

The British official voiced his country’s keenness to boost cooperation and coordination with Jordan on issues of common interest.
