Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian.

The Armenian Embassy on Monday held a reception ceremony marking the 27th Independence Day of Armenia at al-Sham Hotel in Damascus.

In a speech during the ceremony, Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian said that the cooperation between his country and Syria has been built on solid bases of transparent and direct dialogue between dialogue between the leaderships of the two countries and on the common interests.

Ambassador Poladian expressed hope that the new government of his country will achieve a qualitative leap in the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and will achieve an economic integration.

He indicated that the participation of an Armenian company in the 60th edition of Damascus International Fair was the first step in that direction.

In a similar speech, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Ayman Sousan referred to the historic relations binding the two countries, hailing Armenia’s stance towards the terrorist war waged against Syria.

Dr. Sousan said that the two countries look forwards for holding the Syrian-Armenian Joint Committee which will give impetus to the cooperation between them in different domains to be up to the level of the distinguished political relations.

He indicated that Syria welcomes the contribution of Armenian companies to the process of reconstructing what has been destroyed at the hands of the Takfiri terrorists in a way that would achieve the common interests of the two countries.
