Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid

The Arab ambassadors to the United Nations held an extraordinary meeting Thursday at the UN HQ in New York for consultations over a draft resolution demanding Israel to halt its settlement activities.

According to the Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency, the diplomats agreed on waiting for final decisions from their capital cities.

Earlier, Egypt's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said consultations on the draft resolution are not over, whether at the UN HQ in New York or at the Arab League in Cairo.

Abu Zeid said the Arab League's Committee to End the Occupation, which was tasked with drafting the resolution, had decided to re-evaluate developments based on the resolution’s chances to pass in the Security Council.
