Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Domenico Bellato,, has lauded the initiatives of Bahrain’s Economic Development Board (EDB) to extend bridges of cooperation between Bahrain and many countries.

He said that the roadshow conducted by EDB in Italy, under the leadership of Zayed R. Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the EDB, was organised in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Bahrain.

EDB delegation’s visit to Italy comes at a time the two countries’ economic relations are prospering, the envoy added.

He affirmed that the EDB’s visit was welcomed by many Italian companies and businessmen, expressing hope that many agreements to open Italian companies in Bahrain will be signed, especially in light of the increasing interest in bolstering bilateral relations.

The ambassador said that about 500 Italian citizens live in Bahrain, and that the facilities and incentives provided by the Kingdom to investors have been heighted, which, he said, has been welcomed by Italian investors.
