The Syrian army took over a number of strategic posts in the eastern countryside of Homs after killing Daesh elements and destroying their equipment, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported.

During ongoing operations to uproot the Takfiri group from the city of Deir Ezzor and its countryside, Syrian army units destroyed an arms depot and outposts affiliated to Daesh.

The news agency also added that armed clashes broke out between Syrian army ground units and terrorist elements in the neighborhoods of Al Rashdiyeh and Al Howeiqa and in the vicinity of the airport.

Several Daesh elements were killed and injured in the clashes.

SANA also reported that air force and artillery units inflicted heavy losses on Daesh group after bombarding its supply routes in the neighborhoods of Al Hamidiyeh, Al Howeiqa and Al Rashdiyeh, as well as the villages and towns of Howeijet Saqer, Al Tibni, Al Shmaitiyeh, Aiyash, Al Kharita and Al Bhailiyeh.

SANA cited sources as saying that Daesh terrorists, including their leaders Samir Dahham and Abdel Hamid Al Dairi, fled Al Bu Omar village.
