AICafe invite you for Revolutionary cinema: Screening of the groundbreaking film Hour of the Furnaces. Hour of the Furnaces (La Hora de los Hornos) is a brilliant documentary which launched the Third World Cinema movement and put Latin American cinema on the international map. It combines new and old film footage to explain the rise of anti-imperialist regimes and ideologies in the global south, the first of which was Peronism in Argentina. La Hora de los Hornos was made clandestinely in bits and pieces over a period of two years and owes much to the collaboration of subversive groups in various parts of the country. The AIC is a joint Palestinian-Israeli activist organization engaged in dissemination of information, political advocacy and grassroots activism. The AICafè is a political and cultural café open on Tuesday and Saturday night from 7pm until 10pm. It is located in the Alternative Information Center in Beit Sahour, close to Suq Sha\'ab (follow the sign to Jadal Center ). We have a small library with novels, political books and magazines. We also have a number of films in DVD copies and AIC publications which critically analyze both the Palestinian and Israeli societies as well as the conflict itself.
