Egyptian singer/actress Ruby . Egyptian controversial singer/actress Ruby has stated that her appearance during a court hearing for a tax evasion settlement wearing a scarf on her head does not imply she decided to wear the hijab

(Islamic headdress).

Ruby did state that she hopes to wear the hijab one day but currently she is not prepared for such a commitment.
Ruby added that on the day of the trial she had woken up late and did not have time to fix her hair so she decided to put a scarf on her hair.
She said that upon arriving at the court house she was shocked by the amount of press present, who began taking photos of her.
Ruby said that the press assumed she had decided to wear the hijab and published articles that she intends on resigning from her career and never bothered to confirm the news with her.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Ruby also denied circulating rumors that she was involved in an affair with ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak’s son Jamal.
She stressed that the rumors are a fabrication by sick individuals who are just trying to cause problems for her.
Ruby stressed that the lawsuit filed by Egyptian lawyer Nabeeh Al Wahsh calling to boycott her from all media in Egypt and accusing her of being involved with a number of political figures from the former Egyptian regime is absurd.
Ruby stated that she never met Jamal Mubarak in person or any political figure from the former regime. She added that the only politician she had seen in person is the former Minister of Culture Farouq Husni, adding that she did not talk to him and only saw him from far.
