Iyad Nassar resumes filming of Hot, Dry Summers Cairo - Mohammed Alloush Jordanian actor Iyad Nassar has confirmed that he will be returning to Cairo, after a 10-day tour of London. He confirmed he will return to Egypt on February 12 to resume filming on the TV series, Hot, Dry Summers, by the renowned director Mohammed Yasin. "When the director Mohammed Yasin offered me a role from the novel by the late Osama Anwar Okasha, we agreed we would create a drama. I really like the novel, that’s why I decided to dedicate all my full-time to it,” Nassar told Arabstoday. Iyad Nassar will co-star with Rania Youssef, Maali Zayed, Khalid Salim, and Medhat Saleh. He remembered meeting the novelist Osama Anwar Okasha before his death in 2010, while playing the character Hassan al-Banna in the popular TV series, The Group. “After having watched The Group, he (Okasha) praised my performance and said I would succeed in Egypt,” recalled Nassar. The popular artist is still preparing for his role as a police officer in the series, due to be aired during Ramadhan. “I sought out my friends and a psychiatrist so I could completely absorb all the dimensions of the character. It is very complicated and contradictory," he said. Nassar also confirmed that his new management, EGENC, is pushing for him to appear in an upcoming American film. “I make my final decision next week. I’m not sure whether I should take the role in an international film as I have always chosen role appropriate to me, based on my Eastern values,” Nassar told Arabstoday.
