Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, has patronized the Health Promotion Directorate's public awareness campaign regarding vitamin 'D" deficiency, launched at the Yousef Engineer Health Centre.
Dr. Bu Enq gave the inaugural speech in which she expounded on the importance of prevention of vitamin D deficiency, as part of the Ministry of Health (MoH)'s implementation of its (Health Improvement Strategy2015-2018) goals and initiatives.
"Vitamin D deficiency is a global issue that affects around one billion individuals around the world, including Bahrain and the region, as a consequence of unhealthy lifestyles and insufficient exposure to sunlight," she said.
