Aswan Governor Magdy Hegazy and Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal on Thursday discussed the situation in the Upper Egyptian city after 14 coronavirus cases were confirmed among camels coming from Sudan.
Abdel Aal, currently visiting Zambia, was updated over the phone on the health and the veterinary conditions in the governorate, Hegazy said.
On Thursday, the veterinary quarantine authorities in Aswan held 14 camels after they were tested positive to coronavirus.
The camels are part of a consignment coming from Sudan.
The authorities released 4,651 camels in the shipment after they tested negative.
