According to data released by Federal Board of Statistics (FBS), The export of chemicals and pharmaceutical products of Pakistan surged by 43.02 percent during first quarter of current fiscal year (July 2011 to June 2012) as compared to the same period of last year. The country has exported commodities worth 257.232 million U.S. dollars during July-September 2011 against the export of 179.853 million U.S.dollars in July-September 2010. Out of chemicals and pharmaceutical products, the export of plastic material recorded at 112.96 million U.S.dollars during July-September of current fiscal year, registered an increase of 77.74 percent as compared to the same period of last year. According to the data, the export of pharmaceutical products stood at 29.10 million against the export of 33.90 U.S. dollars million during period under view. The export of other chemicals witnessed an increase of 39.76 percent growing from 82.40 million to 115.17 million U.S.dollars. On year on year basis, the export of chemical and pharmaceutical products registered an increase of 74.98 percent during the 3rd month of current fiscal year over the same period of last year. The country has exported the commodities worth 92.95 million U. S. dollars during September 2011 against the export of 53.12 million in the same period of the last year. The export of plastic materials stood at 34.68 million U.S. dollars, showing the growth of 73.93 percent in the month of September of current fiscal year against the export 19.94 million U.S. dollars in the same period of last year. The country has exported pharmaceutical products worth 8.40 million U.S. dollars in the September 2011 as compared to the export of 10.49 million U.S. dollars during the corresponding period of last year. As compared to corresponding period of last year, the export of other chemicals witnessed an increase of 119.85 percent which stood at 49.88 million U.S. dollars.
