Kuwaiti children donated a sum of KD 8,300 to the John Langdon Down foundation as a step to aid Mexican children with down syndrome, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mexico Sameeh Hayat announced here Thursday. Hayat said that this donation reflected Kuwait\'s keenness on bolstering medical ties with Mexico, adding that it also showed the solidarity amongst Kuwaiti and Mexican children. On her part, Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa lauded the Kuwaiti donation which reflected Kuwait\'s eagerness to help others and also thanked the children for the donation to the Down Syndrome foundation. The foundation\'s administration also took a chance to thank the Kuwaiti children for their generous donation, affirming that it was a very honest gesture on their part. The John Langdon Down Foundation was created on April 3, 1972, the first organization of its kind in the world. Down Syndrome is a chromosomal condition caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome.
