Minister of Health Dr. Ali A-Obaidi, in cooperation with the American Heart Association, inaugurated on Tuesday a five-year training campaign to save lives. The Minister said that the campaign aims at engaging all the community individuals, citizens and residents, to take on the responsibility of saving lives properly and quickly. Many government and private bodies are joining this campaign, he added. Al-Obaidi pointed out that the Ministry would not hesitate to offer good health services and awareness campaign to the community. \"It\'s an honor to be here,\" said the General-Director of the American Heart Association Michael Haley who thought being in Kuwait in an opportunity to confirm the already existing cooperation between Kuwait\'s Heath Ministry and his association. He lauded the efforts achieved by Kuwait in improving the health services in the country and providing the proper medical training for the public. He also pointed out, by introducing this campaign, the state of Kuwait aims at training 10 percent of its society in first aid and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); a move that has not been done by any other Arab country than Kuwait, he clarified. American Heart Association is the biggest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting cardiovascular diseases and stroke. There are more than 22 million volunteers working under its umbrella.
