Authorities discovered over the weekend a large quantity of expired medicine in the district of Akkar, north Lebanon. The National News Agency said the medicine, which were past their expiration date, had been tossed along a side road leading to one of the landfills in the Dhour al-Hussein region of upper Bibnine in Akkar. The report did not specify the quantity of expired medicine discovered. The agency said there had been an attempt to burn the items in a bid to destroy all traces of the medicine. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are under way.
