The World Health Organization (WHO) ministerial meeting, 'The Road to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region" opened in Oman. The three-day event, which kicked-off yesterday in Salalah, is being held under the patronage of Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq bin Taimur al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and the Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.
Muscat, Sept.4 (BNA): The World Health Organization (WHO) ministerial meeting, 'The Road to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region" opened in Oman. The three-day event, which kicked-off yesterday in Salalah, is being held under the patronage of Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq bin Taimur al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and the Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.
Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh led Bahrain’s delegation to the meeting, which also attended by ministers and officials representing 22 countries from Eastern Mediterranean Zone. Addressing the session, she underlined Bahrain’s plan to promote sustainable health sector and provide a world-standard comprehensive health cover for all citizens. She underlined the in initiatives and measures, which were undertaken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote a comprehensive health system and pass necessary legislations, citing particularly the Law on National Health Insurance which targets all demographic categories.
