Al-Mabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation sponsors 18 diabetic children.

Al-Mabarrah Al Khalifia announced its sponsorship of 18 diabetic children associated with Shouroq Camp for Children with Diabetes, which comes under the guidance of Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Diabetes Society, from November 30 to December 2 at the Bahrain Football Federation premises in Isa Town.

Shouroq Camp for Children with Diabetesis one of the major annual events organized by the Bahrain Diabetes Society to raise awareness about diabetes, its symptoms, prevention and how to best deal with the disease through an informative and simple campaign. The camp also features various sport activities, recreational activities, art workshops, popular games and competitions.
“The Foundation truly believes in the importance of playing a major role in social responsibility, hence the decision to support the 18th edition of Shouroq Camp for Children with Diabetes, in order to raise awareness amongst Bahraini youth and raise an educated generation that is committed to a healthy lifestyle and dealing with chronic diseases, in particularly diabetes,"Chairperson of AlMabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation, HH Shaikha Zain Bint Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, said.
“Our sponsorship comes in line with our efforts to instill the principles of love, citizenship, belonging, good qualities and ethical work in the hearts of our children, raising a generation that is capable of taking ownership and responsibility and changing the future of Bahrain."
Dr. Mariam Al Hajri, Vice President of Bahrain Diabetes Society said that Bahrain Diabetes Society seeks to host 40 diabetic children from Bahrain and the GCC, as well as secure medical support from a team of doctors, consultants, nurses, nutritionists and support staff to support the awareness campaign.
Dr. Samia Al Qattan, Board Member of Bahrain Diabetes Society and Chairperson of Shouroq Camp for Children with Diabetes, confirmed that the board committee have finalized the awareness and recreational program for this year, which will include a number of activities such as sports, arts and educational competitions on self-care. In addition, invite a number of diabetic children to share their stories and how they deal with the disease.
Both Dr. Al Hajri and Dr. Al Qattan extended their gratitude towards the Foundation for their support and cooperation with the Bahrain Diabetes Society and its generous sponsorship of the initiative.
In addition, the Bahrain Football Federation’s efforts in overcoming challenges to make the camp a success. The major role played by all concerned parties from government intuitions, societies and organizations has reinforced the principle of community partnership and reflects the keenness of all to achieve humanitarian goals. They also extended their appreciation towards the organizing committee of the camp, the staff and volunteers from the Ministry of Health, Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, King Hamad University Hospital, RCSI Medical University Hospital and the Ministry of Education.
Since its establishment in 1989, the Bahrain Diabetes Society has been promoting health awareness through awareness and educational programs. To ensure the success of its programs, the Bahrain Diabetes Society worked towards consolidating integration with all government, non-governmental and private sectors.
