The Health Ministry announced that 16 special hospitals were selected to market their services internationally to promote medical tourism in Egypt.
The hospitals are equipped with up-to-date equipment and medical teams to present several medical services.
The hospitals that were chosen are Nasser Institute Hospital, Zayed hospital, Dar al Shifa, Aswan Cancer Center, Haram hospital, Luxor International Hospital, Sharm el Sheikh International Hospital, el Qahera el Fatimyah hospital, Al Hilal Hospital, Ismailia General Hospital, Ismailia Teaching Oncology Hospital, Hurghada General Hospital, Nasser General Hospital, Ras Sedr General hospital and Dar el Salam General Hospital, according to a statement of the ministry Wednesday.
A ten-member team will be formed in each hospital to work in the medical tourism units, the statement said, adding that the team will include a doctor, a data entry clerk, an accountant, four nurses and three from the public relations.
The statement added that preparations are done to participate in a conference held in Sharm el Sheikh on medical tourism late in 2016.
