United States Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Baghdad on Friday, NRT TV channel reported.
US State Department Spokesman John Kirby said in a statement that Kerry will highlight strong support for the Iraqi government regarding major economic and political security challenges.
Kerry will also visit the Kurdistan Region to meet senior officials and discuss the anti-Daesh efforts in the region, Kirby added.
Kerry would hold meetings with Iraqi President Fuad Masoum, Iraqi premier Haider Abadi and Iraqi Kurdistan Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.
