US Congressman Mike Conaway, leading a delegation from the Congress, left here on Tuesday wrapping up a three-day visit to Egypt. 

Conaway, who chairs the Committee on Agriculture and is a member of two other panels of the House of Representatives is to head for Kuwait.

Earlier, Conaway held a meeting with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry during which he voiced appreciation for Egypt's role in the Arab world. 

The meeting also took up the latest conditions in Syria.

Asked about Egypt's war against terrorism and Washington's role to assist Cairo, Conaway said this war will be long and that it should be undergone jointly, appreciating President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's efforts to spread the real values of Islam.
