Chairman of the US House Committee on Homeland Security Michael McCaul along with his accompanying delegation visited the ancient Pyramids plateau on Monday.
The US Congress delegation was fascinated by the Egyptian ancient civilization.
Director general of Giza plateau Hussein Abdel Basir told MENA on Monday that he received members of the US delegation and their families.
The delegation also listened to a detailed explanation about the most important historical sites, he added.
McCaul along with his accompanying delegation arrived here Monday morning on a three-day visit to Egypt to discuss ways of boosting cooperation and confronting terrorist groups.
McCaul is scheduled to meet with a host of senior officials to probe ways of boosting cooperation between Egypt and the US and the latest developments in the region, especially the situation in Syria, Yemen and Libya.
