UAQ Ruler attends signing ceremony with Hutchison Ports

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, UAQ, attended the signing of an agreement between the UAQ government and the Hutchison Ports Company, in Hong Kong, to develop and operate the container terminal facilities at the Ahmed Bin Rashid Port in UAQ.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the Emiri Court, was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain.

The agreement was signed by Sultan Saeed Al Ali, Executive Director of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, and Andy Tsoi, Hutchison Ports' Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa.

Hutchison Ports will establish four anchoring facilities of 845 metres on a space of 23 hectares, as part of its operations for the port’s container terminal facilities, within the framework of the Ahmed Bin Rashid Port development plan in UAQ.

Hutchison Ports' Director-General emphasised that developing the level of services at the Ahmed Bin Rashid Port would increase the exports and imports movement in the future.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Deputy Chairman of the Umm Al Qaiwain Executive Council, also attended the signing along with several officials.
