Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat accompanied by Chairman of Egypt's Railway Authority Sayyed Salem on Tuesday boarded the Cairo-Alexandria train no. 905 to inspect it.
During his inspection tour, he talked to a number of passengers to make sure of the level of services delivered to them on their trips as well as answered their related inquiries.
He pointed out to the project being implemented by the railway authority to upgrade the railway signaling system that is expected to enhance safety and security systems. He said such projects will be carried out at a cost of one billion dollars.
He also noted that the ministry has a plan to develop all elements of the railway system including level crossings, stations and signaling system.
