Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil said that talks are underway to form the board of the Egyptian Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
In statements on Monday on the sidelines of "Ahlan Ramadan" exhibition that will run till May 26, the minister said that the authority's board of trustees held its first meeting.
Talks are underway to choose the authority's board chairman and executive director, Qabil added.
As for the Trade Ministry's plan to control prices, the minister said he is working with the Supply and Internal Trade Ministry and the private sector to expand supermarket chains and logistic centers in the country.
Regarding the 1,000 factories project in the 5th Settlement in New Cairo, the minister said that more than 200 factories have been operated so far.
