Sisi arrives in Uganda

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived here on Sunday on a day-long official visit for talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

The visit aims at furthering bilateral relations in all domains, especially trade and economic ones and mulling possible increase of trade exchange, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said in earlier statements.

In addition to bilateral relations, talks will tackle a number of African issues of mutual interest in light of Uganda's efforts to achieve peace and security in the Nile basin, Horn of Africa and the African continent, added the spokesman.

President Sisi will hold talks with Museveni at the presidential palace in Entebbe over bilateral relations and ways of setting up joint projects, especially in the economic and trade domains, he noted.

Several Egyptian companies are operating in the various sectors in the Ugandan market.

The two leaders will also discuss efforts to enhance security and stability in the continent and find political settlements to many crises in African nations.

The two leaders will hold a press conference at the end of their talks.
